Enjoy exploring the area around St. Johann in Salzburg by bike at your own pace! Excellent signposted and marked cycle paths criss-cross the region, and there are plenty of places along the route where you can stop for a break or have a look around.

Tauern Cycle Route

Ideal for the whole family is the “Legendary Tauern Cycle Route” from St. Johann to Werfen, with numerous playgrounds, places of interest and swimming pools along the route. The cross-border Alpe-Adria Cycle Route, which starts in Salzburg – the city of Mozart – and leads through the Salzach and Gastein valleys to Carinthia before ending in Grado, Italy, also passes through St. Johann in Salzburg.

Alpe-Adria Cycle Route

Eight stages link the city of Mozart, Salzburg, via St Johann in Salzburg and the Alps, to the Adriatic Sea. The Alpe-Adria Cycle Route turns the journey across the Alps into a delightful tour on two wheels – offering cultural, sporting and culinary delights – by incorporating old railway lines and numerous tunnels!
