Since Summer 2025, the mandatory mobility tax has been levied throughout Salzburg. In return, all overnight guests will receive the Guest Mobility Ticket.
The ticket allows the use of all public transport in the entire province of Salzburg (city and regional buses, S-Bahn trains, regional and long-distance trains, as well as Salzburg Verkehr shuttles) during the entire stay.

The Salzburg Verkehr Guest Mobility Ticket is a unified ticket for all overnight guests in the federal state of Salzburg. The funding is provided through the mandatory mobility fee, which is an additional charge to the overnight tax and is issued directly at check-in at the accommodation. It is valid for all public transportation in the Salzburg region for the duration of the stay. This includes city transport, regional buses, S-trains, regional trains, long-distance trains, and micro-public transport.
The Salzburg Transport Guest Mobility Ticket is valid on all public transport services throughout the federal state of Salzburg for the duration of your stay.
This includes all city and regional buses, including city buses and trolleybuses in the city of Salzburg, S-Bahn services and regional trains, ÖBB long-distance trains, including DB ICE trains, WESTbahn trains, Salzburg local railways in the Pinzgau and Flachgau regions, as well as micro public transport services.
The Guest Mobility Ticket is valid for the entire stay of a guest, from check-in until the end of operations on the day of departure.
The ticker is also valid with pre-check-in and can be used for the journey to the accommodation. (Rail transport (train connections) and Local transport (buses)).
The Salzburg Verkehr Guest Mobility Ticket is issued to guests directly at check-in at the accommodation and is charged as a mandatory mobility fee, in addition to the overnight tax, at a rate of 0.50 euros per person per night.
The ticket is provided digitally or in paper form by the accommodation provider. For sustainability reasons, the digital version is preferred.

Yes, one dog per person and Guest Mobility Ticket can travel free of charge.
Please note that dogs must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle. The respective transport conditions also apply.
No, bicycle transport is not included in the Guest Mobility Ticket.
For regional train services (R, R3, R9, S-Bahn, REX), a separate bicycle ticket is required. On long-distance trains (IR, EC, IC, RJ/RJX, ICE, D), you also need a reservation in addition to the bicycle ticket.
On regional buses, the bus driver decides on site whether bicycles can be transported, depending on available space.
