From summer 2025, a compulsory mobility charge will be levied throughout the Salzburg region. In return, all overnight guests will receive the Guest Mobility Ticket.
The ticket allows the use of all public transport throughout the Salzburg region (city and regional buses, suburban trains, regional and long-distance trains, as well as the Salzburg Verkehr shuttles) for the duration of the stay.

The Salzburg Verkehr Guest Mobility Ticket is a single ticket for all overnight guests in the province of Salzburg. It is funded by the compulsory mobility levy, which is charged in addition to the overnight stay tax, and is issued directly upon check-in at the accommodation. It is valid for all public transport in the Salzburg region for the duration of the stay. This includes city transport, regional bus services, suburban rail services, regional trains, long-distance trains and micro-public transport.
The Salzburg Verkehr Guest Mobility Ticket is valid on all public transport in the province of Salzburg for the duration of your stay.
This includes all city and regional buses (including city buses and trolleybuses in the city of Salzburg), suburban and regional trains, ÖBB long-distance trains (including DB’s ICE trains), WESTbahn trains, the Salzburg local railways in the Pinzgau and Flachgau regions, and micro-public transport services.
The Guest Mobility Ticket is valid for the duration of a guest’s stay, i.e. from check-in until closing time on the day of departure.
You will receive the ticket electronically as a digital wallet or as a PDF directly at check-in or during pre-check-in at your accommodation, and it is charged as a compulsory mobility levy – and therefore in addition to the overnight stay tax – at a rate of 0.50 euros per person per night.
The ticket is provided by the accommodation provider either digitally or in paper form. For sustainability reasons, the digital version is preferable.
The Salzburger Sportwelt Card is the region’s visitor card. With it, you can make use of the leisure facilities and enjoy services and admission at reduced prices.
You’ll receive the Guest Mobility Ticket together with the visitor card, and this allows you to use all public transport during your stay.

Yes, one dog may be carried free of charge per person and per Guest Mobility Ticket.

No, the Guest Mobility Ticket does not include bicycle transport.
A separate bicycle ticket is required for transport on regional trains (R, R3, R9, S-Bahn, REX). On long-distance services (IR, EC, IC, RJ/RJX, ICE, D), you will need a reservation in addition to your bicycle ticket.
On regional buses, the bus driver decides on the spot whether bicycles can be carried.
