Pongau Cathedral & Anna ChapelCultural history in the city center!The two-towered parish church with a Gothic wood sculpture is the landmark of St. Johann im Pongau. It was first mentioned in 924. After the market fire of 1855, the Pongau Cathedral was rebuilt from the ground up.
The Anna Chapel was built in 1301 between Wagrainerstraße and the Pongau Cathedral.

Giant Ice World
The world's largest cave! Experience a unique natural spectacle of rock and ice. The largest ice cave in the world in Werfen is open from the beginning of May to the end of October. The guided cave tours start right at the cave entrance. The first guided tour takes place after visitors arrive. The guided tours always run at the full and half hour instead, and more frequently if required. During the visit of the cave, covers a climb of 134 meters in altitude. Sturdy shoes and warm clothing is recommended. The temperature is generally below freezing even in summer.
Castle HohenwerfenA journey into the Middle Ages!Visitors can experience an airy experience on the 900-year-old Adventure Castle Hohenwerfen - the 155-meter high rocky cone above the Salzach Valley. The powerful defensive system was built at the same time as the Fortress Hohensalzburg and is considered one of the best preserved buildings of the late Middle Ages. Krimml WaterfallsImpressive water masses!The Krimml Waterfalls are the highest waterfalls in Austria with a total drop height of 385 m. They are located on the outskirts of the town of Krimml in the National Park Hohe Tauern. With approximately 400,000 visitors per year, the Krimml Waterfalls are amont the top 10 most visited sights of Austria. The refreshing mists of the Krimml Waterfalls amidst the fantastic scenery of the National Park Hohe Tauern will inspire young and old. A 10 - 15 minutes walk will take you from the parking lot to the lowest waterfall. From there, the waterfall trail, running along a serpentine path, leads up to the top waterfall (walking time approx. 1.15 h) and further into the Krimml Achen Valley. Panoramic viewpoints offer spectacular views of the thundering water masses of the Krimml Waterfalls.
Grossglockner High Alpine RoadAn imposing Alpine road! The most famous Alpine road in Austria takes you to the heart of the National Park Hohe Tauern, Austria's highest mountain, the Grossglockner (3,789 m), and its glacier, the Pasterze. The Alpine road is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Salzburger Land. On 48 kilometers of the well-developed high Alpine road, with 36 bends, a height climb up to 2,504 meters, a nature and driving experience of a special kind awaits you. The excursion also offers a great opportunity for an animal visit to the Wildpark Ferleiten, which is situated right next to the toll station in Fusch.
