General questions and answers

You receive the Salzburger Sportwelt Guest Card directly from your accommodation owner. The guest card is personal and valid for the duration of your stay. Please take the guest card with you wherever you go, as you must show it to enjoy the discounts.

Some advantages with the guest card: discounts on various cable cars in the region, Liechtenstein Gorge, Sportwelt bus and much more.

In St. Johann in Salzburg there are two campsites, summer and winter:

If you are travelling by bus to the Alpendorf ski area or to the Geisterberg in summer, this is no problem. There are bus parking spaces directly near the valley station of the Alpendorf cable cars.

  • Summer: Tenne car park
  • Winter: according to arrival time in the main car park of in the Tenne car park

The post office is located in the town centre, right near the Tourist Office.

Souvenirs and postcards are available from the magazines and cigarette shops (Trafik, Kiosk). Geisterberg (Ghost Mountain) souvenirs are available directly from the ticket office at the Alpendorf Cable Car.

Directly by the Alpendorf gondola lift in the main building on the parking area or on the 1st floor.

Yes! You can take the Alpendorf Cable Car to the mountain station. From there, the hiking trail starts right next to the cross-country ski trail. You can find all the winter hiking trails in St. Johann with the exact details in our Tour map.

Yes, with a valid ski pass or with winter sports clothes the ski bus is free of charge. You'll find more information here.

There is a special map for winter walkers. Here, guests can travel to the Strassalm as pedestrians. You can meet at the Gondl Stub`n, Gernkogelalm or Strassalm, for example.

Questions and answers for your summer holiday

Yes, dogs are allowed on the Geisterberg (Ghost Mountain). In the summer there is a special ticket.

Most of the paths are suitable for pushchairs. However, an outdoor pram with good wheels is recommended. However, toddlers are best off in a carrier.

No, the best way to get to the Geisterberg (Ghost Mountain) is on the Alpendorf Cable Car. You can drive by car to the Sternhof and park there. After that, it's just a matter of walking.

In principle, dogs are allowed on a short leash and with a muzzle. Please note that there are 440 steps (partly metal grating steps) to climb and back again. This can be a big hurdle for four-legged friends.

By car:
Via the A 10 - Tauern motorway, exit Knoten Pongau, then on the B 311 - Pinzgauer Bundesstraße, via Bischofshofen approx. 6 kilometres to St. Johann, exit "Knoten SÜD". Follow the "Großarler Landesstraße" in the direction of Alpendorf and Großarl, after approx. 700m turn left and then immediately take the next turn to the right. Now you are already on the Liechtensteinklammstraße, follow this road for approx. 3 km until you arrive at the car park of the Liechtensteinklamm.

Mit dem Bus:
Vom Stadtzentrum nimmt man den Citybus bis zur Endstation Landhotel Lerch-Plankenau, von dort wandert man in ca. 20 Minuten gemütlich zur Klamm
